Tuesday nights are special in The Nore Bar in Kilkenny city.

In this small one-storeyed bar, sandwiched unassumingly between Greens Bridge and Stephens Barracks in New Street, they make their own entertainment on Tuesdays. The bar, which was owned by the Cleere family for many years has always had a loyal clientelle who like to chat and tell stories and when Michael Cantwell took over the bar a couple of years ago, he recognised the entertainment value of turning off the telly and letting the punters entertain themselves.

This 2006 podcast by master documentary storyteller Ronan Kelly, tells the story of his night in the Nore Bar.
